If you hit the rewind button on life, here is what you would see…
Dinner with my hubby last night.
An accidental Blue Apron delivery resulted in my first pasta dish in months! It was delicious. Squid Ink Linguine with Shrimp. This Blue Apron was simple and easy to toss together. We waited until the girls were in bed and sat down to watch the movie While We’re Young and eat our scrumptious meal. A little date night in.
Could these two be in any cuter? Eleanor loves her sister. And her sister loves food! So far she has tasted sweet potato, broccoli, avocado, watermelon, blueberries, banana, grapes, applesauce, melon, turkey, eggs and banana. She was not a fan of the scrambled eggs and it is hit and miss with avocado. Oh, and I also let her suck on a piece of my bacon the other morning. Ruthie gets incredibly upset if we sit down to a meal and do not feed her, so it’s all the food, all the time with her.
We are using Baby Led Weaning for the most part. Allowing her to feed herself. However, when it’s more convenient we will spoon feed. Sometimes BLW can be such a mess and I don’t always have the patience for another clean up job. We are also being much more loose about how fast we introduce her to foods and not being overly cautious with even high-allergen foods. We will always wait a few hours after feeding her a new food before introducing another new food, just in case she does have a reaction. But we are rapidly making our way through the list of foods.
An impromptu family night out. We were supposed to meet friends at a Food Truck Rally but the traffic was so terrible! We diverted to Davidson, grabbed a beer at the beverage company and walked across the street for tacos at Carrburrito. I was bummed we didn’t get to see friends, but happy to spend the evening with my family!
(And Saturday was a low key day starting with a visit to Vovi and RonRon’s and ending with a cook out with friends but I forgot to snap any photos)
And let me take you even further to Thursday. My great friend Angie was in town, Alex worked from home with the girls so we could get out for an adventure. After a slow morning at home, we headed to the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte for an All Sport Pass which included white water rafting, stand up paddle boarding, high ropes and ziplines. Also, this fabulous dinner at their cafe.
It was a blast and we got to really test our skill and bravery on the obstacles. I am so glad we did this. It was a nice break from mom life.
Now, another Monday. Nap routines and meals. Laundry and dishes. Back to the grind.
